Cement Plant Solar

Overview

In 2015, Essex Capital Partners developed a 500 kW AC / 700 kW DC group net metered solar array on the former site of the William E. Dailey Rawsonville plant.   After purchasing the property from Peckham Industries, ECP managed all aspects of the permitting, financing and construction of the array.

The project supplies locally generated energy from a renewable power source to the Green Mountain Power electric distribution grid, obviating the need for long-range transmission of power.   Under Vermont’s group net metering program, the project also supplies benefits to the Dailey Precast plant in Shaftsbury in the form of net metering and gross generation credits, allowing Dailey Precast to achieve a monthly savings on their electric bill.

The array was commissioned on December 1, 2015.
