Essex Capital Partners affiliate River Street Associates, LLC has closed on its purchase of the property located at 115 River Street in Halifax, MA. The property will be the future home of the River Street Solar + Storage project, which received a PSOQ from the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources on May 6, 2022.
The project is a 1.5 MWac, 3.123 MWdc solar array with a two-hour battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will be the sixth facility in the Essex Capital Partners portfolio, and the first with energy storage and first to utilize a single axis tracking racking system.
The project has achieved all major pre-construction project development milestones, including receipt of all land use entitlements and non-ministerial permits, interconnection service, qualification for the Massachusetts SMART tariff and site control. Most major project equipment has been procured and is stored locally. Construction is expected to commence in July 2022 and commercial operations are expected to begin in late 2022 or early 2023.
